SuperStrut is a compounded 4-in-1 rapid dissolve tablet (RDT) prescribed for erectile dysfunction. It may help with erections and, through its other ingredients, with arousal and sexual response. It dissolves under the tongue. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.
Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction (ED). It is in the same drug class as sildenafil, vardenafil, and avanafil.
Vardenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction. It helps relax the blood vessels and smooth muscle in the penis, which makes an erection easier to achieve and maintain.
Oxytocin, also known as the “love hormone” is a hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter and is naturally made in the hypothalamus portion of the brain. In humans, the release of oxytocin in the body can lead to relationship-enhancing effects including trust, positive relationship memories, positive communication, relaxation, and feeling a stronger bond to your partner.
Apomorphine is a dopamine agonist. It works by stimulating certain receptors in the brain, which may increase blood flow to the penis to help achieve an erection. This is an off-label use of Apomorphine.
SuperStrut combines tadalafil, vardenafil, oxytocin and apomorphine in one tablet. Tadalafil and vardenafil act on blood flow to support erections. Apomorphine acts on the brain and may help with erections (off-label). Oxytocin is included for its possible effects on relaxation and connection; evidence for oxytocin in sexual function is limited.
Take the dose directed by your doctor by placing the rapid dissolve tablet underneath your tongue and allowing it to dissolve fully, do not swallow whole. This may take a few minutes to fully dissolve under your tongue and into your cheek tissues. You may be able to have sexual activity 15-30 minutes after taking SuperStrut and up to 36 hours after taking your dose. Do not take more than one dose daily. You may take your dose on an empty stomach or with food. Take only the amount of medication that your doctor directed you to take, taking more than directed may cause an increased risk of side effects.
This medication should be kept in a cool, dry place. Ideally, it should be stored in a refrigerator if temperatures exceed 70 degrees, as the medication can soften or melt in warmer conditions. If the medication does melt, it remains safe to use; simply place it in the freezer to harden again. The medication can be transported, but please take care to avoid exposing it to extreme heat. It is important to note that melting or freezing does not alter the active ingredients. If the medication melts during transit, you can simply place it in the refrigerator until it firms up. Once solidified, the tablets can be easily removed from the pack for use. Avoid storing the medication in direct sunlight or areas with excessive heat, as this can affect the tablet’s texture and handling.
Most patients will start having a response from SuperStrut in 15-30 minutes after taking their dose, although full effects may take longer. SuperStrut may make it easier to achieve an erection for up to 36 hours after taking one dose.
Before taking SuperStrut make sure your doctor knows about any of the following health conditions: heart problems (chest pain, a heart rhythm disorder, heart attack), high or low blood pressure, blood circulation problems, retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye), blindness in one or both eye, bleeding problems, a stomach ulcer, pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD), liver or kidney disease, a blood disorder, such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia, psychosis or psychotic disorder, Parkinson's disease, a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie’s disease), or if you have been told you should not have sexual intercourse for health reasons. Tell your doctor about all your current medication especially: nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate, medicines to treat erectile dysfunction, pulmonary arterial hypertension, antibiotic or antifungal medicine, antiviral medicine to treat hepatitis C or HIV/AIDS, drugs to treat high blood pressure or prostate disorder, seizure medicine, or any medicines that treat nausea or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Drinking alcohol with SuperStrut can cause side effects including low blood pressure or dizziness. Grapefruit may interact with SuperStrut and lead to unwanted side effects. Avoid the use of grapefruit products. Avoid using any other medicines to treat impotence, such as alprostadil or yohimbine, or other ED medications without first talking to your doctor. Do not use with any nitrate medications to avoid a sudden and serious drop in blood pressure. Avoid using with other medications that can cause a change in heart rhythm or rhythm disorder.
The common side effects of Tadalafil are: Headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and a stuffy or runny nose. The common side effects of Vardenafil are: Headache, flushing, congestion, upset stomach, runny nose, flu like symptoms, dizziness, nausea, back pain, and increased creatine kinase levels. The potential side effects of Oxytocin are: nausea, vomiting, heart rhythm changes, water retention. The common side effects of Apomorphine are: Nausea, dizziness, sleepiness, and mouth and throat soft tissue swelling, pain, tingling, or numbness.
