Take this medication as directed by your doctor by swallowing 1 capsule whole with a large glass of water. You will want to take this medication about 30 minutes before you plan on going to sleep. Do not take more than one dose per day. Only the amount of medication that your doctor directed you to take, taking more than directed may cause an increased risk of side effects. Only use this medication right before you plan on going to sleep for a full night’s rest. Do not drive or operate machinery or perform other tasks that require alertness after taking this medication.
Store this medication in the original container in a cool, dry environment, at a controlled room temperature (68F-77F).
Most patients will start having a response from the Strut Sleep Capsule in 15-30 minutes after taking their dose, and may be able to fall into a restful sleep within this time.
The sleep-promoting effects of the Strut Sleep Capsule should last for at least 8 hours, to promote a full night of sleep. Because of this, do not take more than one dose nightly to avoid too much sleep medication in your system and an increased risk of side effects. Talk to your doctor if the effects of this sleep medication are lasting too long and making you feel drowsy during the day.
Before taking the Strut Sleep Capsule make sure your doctor knows about any of the following health conditions: Heart conditions including arrhythmias or heart disease, liver and kidney conditions, mental health conditions including depression anxiety bipolar disorder or hallucinations, sleep conditions including sleep apnea or sleepwalking, eye conditions including glaucoma, urinary retention, low blood pressure, bleeding disorders, priapism, low sodium levels, or any previous anaphylactic reactions. Tell your doctor about all your current medications, especially: Other medications that can cause drowsiness or sedation including antihistamines, any other sleep aids, MAOI antidepressant medications, antianxiety medications, medications that can increase serotonin, medications that can increase the QT interval, cimetidine, Tolazamide, digoxin, phenytoin, blood thinning medications including warfarin, fluvoxamine, rifampin, ketoconazole, fluconazole, donepezil, digoxin. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to get pregnant. This medication is not appropriate for use in these situations and should not be used.
Drinking alcohol with Strut Sleep Capsules can cause side effects, including oversedation, and dangerously enhanced effects of alcohol. Alcohol should be avoided entirely while using this medication. Avoid taking Strut Sleep Capsules along with other medications or illicit drugs that can cause sedation, including other sleep aids, opiates, and anti-anxiety medications. Do not take Strut Sleep Capsules with MAOI antidepressants, medications that can affect your QT interval, and medications that interact with the CYP3A4 enzyme. If you have questions about whether something should be avoided while using this medication, speak with your prescribing physician first.

The common side effects of Ramelteon are: Sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, and worsened insomnia. The common side effects of Magnesium Glycinate are: Stomach upset, and diarrhea. There may be withdrawal symptoms when stopping this medication including anxiety, agitation, and sleep disturbances: The dose should be gradually reduced before complete discontinuation of the treatment.
